What an amazing day! Last week, we hosted another ‘Shatter the Myths’ Youth Rally at Glen Burnie High School in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. 590 freshmen students got the chance to shatter the myths about drugs and alcohol.

Why do some people become addicted, while others don’t? Is medical marijuana good for you? How can I help someone if they are on drugs? Many questions about addiction and the effect of drugs & alcohol on the adolescent brain were answered.

Speakers included Dr. Ruben Baler, Scientist on the Neurobiology of Drug Abuse & Addiction, The National Institute on Drug Abuse – NIDA, and Frankie Graniello, young person in recovery.

‘Shatter the Myths’ is a program designed to dispel myths that youth believe about drugs such as “everyone is doing it” and “one time won’t hurt me.”
