Mentor Foundation USA’s Marketing and Project Manager, Michael Coursey, made the visit to the FOX 5 studios to sit down with Annie Yu and highlight just what makes Mentor Foundation USA so unique and our programs so impactful.

Michael Coursey, together with two summer interns, planned the “I Love Mentors” yoga event to empower the community to become ambassadors for our mission to prevent drug abuse for youth while helping them identify and pursue their personal and professional goals. This unique event was designed to provide our students, mentors and members of the community an opportunity to get together and discuss how to become a mentor in our Mentoring in Schools program as well as how each individual can show their “Love” of mentors by opening the doors to their personal and professional networks so that we can reach more youth.

Mentor Foundaion USA is on a mission this summer to recruit 60 new mentors for the 2014-2015 school year. When our community is inspired to action through events and opportunities like the “I Love Mentors” yoga event we create a network of passionate professional mentors that spread the word and encourage others to get involved.

A huge thank you goes out to our sponsors Lululemon and Corepower yoga who hosted the event in Georgetown, D.C. Together with the Mentor Foundation USA they worked to promote our mission and this event in the Washington D.C. metro area. We also welcomed KIND bars, VitaCoCo and Honest tea as in-kind sponsors who provided refreshments.
