Become a Mentor today! Our program is growing. We have 10 students waiting to be paired with a caring mentor. 3 hours a month in one school year is all it takes. All we ask of you is that you ‘show up and care’ twice a month. Making a difference has never been easier or more impactful.
QUICK FACTS about our Mentoring In Schools Program:
- We use a life skills mentoring curriculum and each session is facilitated by a highly trained educator.
- Cesar Chavez Parkside Campus: 3701 Hayes St NE, Washington, DC 20019 – Every other Tuesday from 3:45-5:15pm – Metro Accessible – Orange Line – Minnesota Ave
- Each session from October-May is scheduled in advance and mentors will have a calendar for the year so they can plan accordingly.
The goal of the mentoring program is to help reduce the risk factors that could lead to negative outcomes such as high school drop out or substance abuse, by providing an additional caring adult in the life of a young person.
At Mentor Foundation USA our motto is “show up and care!” We provide mentor and mentee pairs with fun and engaging discussion topics and activities while fostering an understanding of respect, resilience, care, open communication, and trust. You don’t have to have all the answers, you just have to be willing to listen and share what you know. You can help a young person envision endless possibilities for their futures and believe that it all can be achieved! Our mentors come from various ethnic, professional and cultural backgrounds and all walks of life, but are all caring and professional adults who can motivate students to abstain from drugs, Dream More, Learn More, and Do More! In addition to providing tools for college readiness, professional development, cultural sensitivity, and social engagement we provide mentees with the guidance to plan early on for a lifetime of success!
Come on!! Join our fantastic mentoring team today! We need you!
