WHY IS GIL HOFHEIMER MENTORING?

23 January 2015 | News

Tell us a little about your self and what you do for a living.
I’ve been married for 46 years and have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. I enjoy cycling, kayaking, photography, reading and travel.

I’ve been in the automobile business for 46 years and for the past 22 years I’ve been employed by Euro Motorcars in Bethesda, MD. I currently manage our Volvo division.

Who has inspired you most in your life?
I’ve tried to model myself after people that I’ve met in my personal and professional life or someone I’ve read about and consider to be leaders in their field.

What would you say is the most rewarding part of being a mentor?
I think mentoring is most important for everyone regardless of their background but most importantly for those that don’t have a person to provide guidance and influence through life.

Where would you be today without mentors in your life?
Those that mentored me probably didn’t realize that they were actually guiding me but clearly they were successful. Mentoring doesn’t stop at any age because we are always learning something new on a daily basis.
