As the students from Cesar-Chavez Parkside entered T.C. Williams High School, the auditorium was abuzz with the energy of high school seniors interviewing, meeting, discussing, and experiencing the rush of the college application season.  Four students attended who were participants in Mentor Foundation USA’s Student Mentoring Program.  Mentor Foundation provided transportation, lunch and a chaperone.  Additionally, we saw more than a dozen of their peers that did not elected not to take the bus provided.   It was good to see a number of Cesar-Chavez Parkside students at the event on their own accord.

Of the Mentor students, Alexis Jones secured on-site acceptance from Fisk University, Coppin State University, and Lincoln University (PA).  Soneya Davis applied onsite to Fairwood College as well as Coppin State University.  Lily Cordoba won acceptance on-site to St. Augustine University and applied for a scholarship for Washington, DC students.  Students arrived at T.C. Williams at 10:00 AM and departed the event at 2PM.   It was a fun and productive experience for all that attended and Mentor Foundation plans to continue bringing its students to such a valuable event.
