H.M. Queen Silvia of Sweden has a long-standing and extensive interest in humanitarian issues, and children and youth’s vulnerability is one of the key areas she has chosen to dedicate her focus on. With this impactful dedication, she has and continues to improve the condition, including children’s rights, for children and youth around the world.
In 1994 H.M. Queen Silvia of Sweden established Mentor International together with representatives from the World Health Organization (WHO), and since then the organization has grown to provide support to youth in over 80 countries, impacting more than 6 million children. Today, the organization is the largest of its kind in the world and is represented in the USA, Sweden, Latvia, Germany, Denmark, and has regional offices in Lebanon serving 22 Arab countries.
