Due to the COVID-19 pandemic Mentor USA’s Youth Advisory Committee hasn’t arranged any in-person meetings since the launch in October 2020. Therefore, it was an especially exciting time when they held their first meeting in person in Washington, D.C., at the beginning of July. Mentor USA’s President and CEO, Gudrun Giddings, was also present and excited to meet some of the Youth Advisory Committee members.

We are thankful that our continued virtual meetings have been very flexible and accommodating for all, however, it was a great time seeing one another in person, and we look forward to hosting similar events in the near future!

In October 2020, Mentor USA’s Youth Advisory Committee was launched, and seven previous Youth Ambassadors from Mentor’s programs were selected to join. The committee’s mission is to advise Mentor USA on issues of interest to youth in the community and help commence social media initiatives and campaigns to inspire and engage their peers on various topics, all supporting a healthy lifestyle free of drugs.
